North Macedonia in the World

The Republic of Macedonia, through the Consulate General in Thessaloniki took part in the 13th International Book Fair which was held from 12 to 15 May 2016 in Thessaloniki. The fair was used to promote modern literary works and the cultural heritage of our country through the selected production of literary, monographic, scientific and representative editions. Translations from Macedonian into English were also presented, which were realized through the Ministry of Culture’s projects, as well as publications by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski” and publishing house “Magor”.


Parallel events held on 13 May included poetry reading of academic Urosevic, to mark the publishing of a translated portion of his poetry and prose in Greek language followed by a debate titled “St. Kliment Ohridski: 1100 years of remembrance”, where Macedonian and Greek professors discussed the work and persona of the great enlightener.

The presentation of Macedonian literature was organized by Consulate General, at the invitation of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture.
