North Macedonia in the World

On 8 September 2016, the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in Brussels in cooperation with the Mission of the Republic of Macedonia to the EU and the Mission of the Republic of Macedonia to the NATO organized a reception on the occasion of the 25 anniversary of Macedonia’s independence.

The reception was officially opened by Ambassador Elenovski who in his short address welcomed guests and underlined the excellent bilateral relations across several areas, with special emphasis on economic relations. He referred in detail to past year’s events within Europe: the migrant crisis, terrorist attacks, and he also noted the catastrophic floods in Macedonia that led to the loss of human lives and significant material damage. Ambassador Lepavcov and Ambassador Dabik also delivered their address.

The reception was attended by around 300 guests from the diplomatic corps of Belgium, the EU and NATO, the political and business community of Belgium, the Diaspora and friends of the three missions to Brussels. The owner of the Van Hool Company, Philip Van Hool was also in attendance.
