North Macedonia in the World

On 16 September 2016, to mark the occasion of 25 years of independence of the Republic of Macedonia – September 8th – the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in Warsaw organized a reception for the diplomatic corps accredited to Warsaw, representatives of Polish state institutions, municipalities, the business community as well as representatives of the Macedonian community living and working in Poland.

In her introductory address before the high-level guests in attendance, the Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy, Gorica Atanasova Gjorevska, referred to the crucial importance of Polish-Macedonian bilateral relations in the overall progress the Republic of Macedonia has made in its quarter century of independence, starting from the international recognition and affirmation as a sovereign country by world organizations in the early 90s up until now when we enjoy the continuous and active support of the Republic of Poland for achieving our foreign policy strategic priorities – membership into the European Union and NATO.

She concluded by stating that there are certain historic episodes in the mutual relations which have created an emotional link between the Polish and Macedonian peoples, and have created familiarity in the field of political, economic, cultural and tourism cooperation which we are determined to expand and foster in the future.
