The initiative is intended to create a leadership model which will unite men and women in the decision-making structures and will break down gender barriers. This initiative is supported by the UN Secretary General António Guterres, UNODC Executive Director, Yury Fedotov, IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, CTBTO Executive Secretary Lassina Zerbo and other prominent persons. The initiative is simultaneously active in Vienna, New York and Geneva and thus brings the cities closer and provides a new ideal platform for joint action in promoting gender equality.

During the inauguration, the Ambassador and Permanent representative of RM to the IOs in Vienna, Kire Ilioski supported the initiative and was declared a Gender Champion. In his speech, Ambassador Ilioski underlined that gender equality and strengthening the position of women in the society contributes to peace, security, development and stability. When women are prevented from reaching their full potential, that potential is lost for the society as a whole.
