The Macedonian Mentoring Network in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Macedonian Embassy in Warsaw held the first Macedonian-Polish Business Forum of women entrepreneurs from 28 June to 1 July 2017 in Warsaw, Poland.

The Macedonian Mentoring Network in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Macedonian Embassy in Warsaw held the first Macedonian-Polish Business Forum of women entrepreneurs from 28 June to 1 July 2017 in Warsaw, Poland.  The event was a joint idea by the Macedonian Mentoring Network, the International Forum for Women of Poland and the Macedonian Embassy in Warsaw with the support of the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries. The aim of the forum is to establish closer economic contacts so as to create opportunities for economic cooperation, to promote Macedonian export in the Republic of Poland, to attract potential foreign investments from Poland, to establish prospects for joint ventures between companies from Macedonia and Poland on both markets and in third countries, as well as to examine the Polish experiences of using the EU structural funds, all while focusing primarily on women entrepreneurs. The intention was to achieve the above said through dialogue and cooperation among the public, private and non-governmental sector with the purpose of ensuring inclusivity and comprehensiveness.

The programme also included a business forum which was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, and was opened by the Deputy Minister for Economic Cooperation, Ambassador Poniatowski of the Polish Foreign Ministry, the Deputy Director of Economic Diplomacy, Spresa Jusufi, the Charge D’Affaires at the Macedonian Embassy in Warsaw Gorica Atanasova Gjorevska and Mrs. Ewa Ruminska-Zimny, President of the Polish Partner organization and lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics. The event was attended by women entrepreneurs, managers, executives and leaders, representatives of 35 companies from Macedonia and Poland. Presentations were held by several companies with experience in investments which are already operating on the Macedonian market such as Asseco and Rego-Bis, and several B2B matchmaking-meetings were organized with the intention of matching compatible business from both sides. As part of the visit, meetings and contacts were held and established with the management of the Polish-Balkan Chamber of Commerce which includes Polish companies oriented to the region of Southeast Europe whose purpose was to find prospects for further cooperation and to attract potential investors.

The event ended with a reception and a networking event at the Macedonian Embassy in Warsaw organized by the Charge D’Affaires Gorica Atanasova Gjorevska on the occasion of the First business forum of women entrepreneurs which was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of several countries, representatives of the Polish business community and the participants of the forum.
