The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov thanked the Kingdom of Norway for completing the ratification process of the NATO Accession Protocol of our country and for its continuous and strong support for the Euro-Atlantic future of the Republic of North Macedonia as evidenced by the long-standing friendship between the two countries, based on mutual understanding, respect and active bilateral cooperation.

FM Dimitrov: “Norway is one of the strongest, most progressive and most prosperous European democracies. That is why we signed a joint statement of partnership and cooperation in Oslo during my visit. I thanked for the ratification of the Accession Protocol for our NATO membership. We talked about the entire region and about our bilateral relations. We are grateful for Norway’s support of our reform agenda. We are grateful for Norway’s interest and presence not only in our country but in the region as a whole and we highly appreciate it.”

Minister Søreide reaffirmed Norway’s support for the realization of North Macedonia’s strategic priorities by achieving the necessary standards for the purpose of integrating the Republic of North Macedonia into NATO and the European Union.

FM Søreide: “North Macedonia is making very good progress and we are supporting you staunchly in your efforts, and we will continue to do so as well. I also look forward to sitting next to Nikola in NATO. We are geographically a bit apart, but we will be neighbors around the table. He will take the place between the Netherlands and me. And I hope that that will constitute an even stronger cooperation in the future. We will continue to work closely with the Government on the preparation processes for NATO and the EU and also of course to continue our strong bilateral relationship.
