Talks tackled aspects of bilateral cooperation as well as joint strategic commitments for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of North Macedonia and the region. It was emphasized, on our part, that to receive a positive decision for North Macedonia to start accession talks with the EU is to acknowledge and specifically evaluate the obvious results and achievements which will simultaneously provide a new impetus for us but also for the entire region and the EU. Minister Dimitrov stressed that with the Prespa Agreement “we have succeeded in reaching a genuine European compromise with our Greek friends in a region where compromises are hard. Our goal is to become a European country which means above all, rule of law. We have a great chance for joint success in October.”
