North Macedonia in the World

On December 1, 2015 at the United Nations University in Tokyo, the Macedonian Ambassador in Tokyo, Adriana Cvetkovic PhD, gave a lecture entitled “Ambassadors of the future – public diplomacy as a tool for global change”.


The team at the Macedonian Embassy in Stockholm supported the Activism against gender-based violence – an international campaign by the UN aimed at raising public awareness and calling to action to end violence against women and girls at global level. The campaign is held every year and lasts 16 days between 25 November – International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and 10 December – International Human Rights Day.

Тhe Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in Warsaw took part in the 8th International Humanitarian Bazаar, organized by SHOM - Spouses of Heads of Missions, which was held in hotel Marriot on 29.11.2015. 


At the initiative of the Macedonian Embassy in Stockholm and in cooperation with the State Archive and the War Museum in Macedonia, the exhibition “Macedonia during World War I” was opened on 25 November 2015 at the Stockholm War Museum. The exhibition is part of the cycle of exhibitions held at the Stockholm War Museum on occasion of the 100 anniversary of WWI where Austria, Russia, the Netherlands, Serbia and Armenia have already been presented.

On 18 November 2015 the KAZGUU University Academic-Diplomatic Club held a lecture delivered by the Ambassador Ilija Psaltirov PhD, titled “Republic of Macedonia – Geopolitical and Geo-economic Hub in Europe”. The lecture was attended by approximately hundred guests including a large number of students, but also professors, ambassadors and other representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as a representative of the MFA of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Kire Ilioski participated in the International Conference entitled “Countering Radicalization and Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism” which took place in Tel Aviv, Israel from 9 to 11 November 2015. 


On 17 November 2015 an event marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment diplomatic relations with Israel was held at the Einav Culture Center in Tel Aviv. On this occasion the exhibition titled “А Macedonian eye on Israel, an Israeli eye on Macedonia” was officially opened including a concert by the Skopje Brass Quintet.

The Macedonian Presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI) declares its resolute and unconditional condemnation of the terrorist attacks targeting several locations in Paris, that have resulted in a great number of casualties and injuring dozens. Being deeply shocked by this desperate and deep tragedy, the Macedonian Presidency of the CEI expresses its deep condolences and profound solidarity to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and the people of France. 

On 12 November 2015, a large humanitarian event was held for children with special needs at the Day Centre in Kocani at the initiative of the Embassy and in cooperation with International Philanthropic Society of Sweden.


From 5 to 8 November 2015, the International Cultural Heritage Show was held at the exhibition space Carrousel within the prestigious museum Louvre in Paris, which included the first participation of the Republic of Macedonia at this important show which brings together professionals in the field of protection of tangible and intangible cultural heritage across the globe.
