From 22 to 29 May 2016, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia paid a visit to the Republic of Turkey during which numerous training sessions under different topics were held and a myriad of visits were made to several state institutions in Ankara and Istanbul.

 

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Dragana Kiprijanovska took part in the OSCE Counter-terrorism conference “Preventing Terrorism and Countering Violent Extremism and radicalization that Lead to Terrorism”, which was held in the period between 31 May and 1 June 2016 in Berlin, Germany.

On 23 May 2016, under the organization of students of Macedonian language and culture at the Institute of Slavonic Philology at the Jagiellonian University and under the honorary auspices of the Macedonian Embassy in Warsaw, the cultural manifestation “Macedonian cauldron, discover the tastes of culture” was held in Krakow. The event is a result of activities undertaken by the Embassy in this past period aimed towards presenting the culture of the Republic of Macedonia across different regions in Poland and is also a continuation of the ongoing activity in the field of cultural diplomacy carried out by the Embassy titled: “Days of Macedonian Culture”.

Statement by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Macedonia to the International Organizations in Vienna, Ambassador Kire Ilioski at the OSCE Permanent Council, Vienna, 27 May 2016

Mr. Chairman,

We take note of the statements made today conserning the political developments in the Republic of Macedonia. In that context let me inform you of the following:

On 21 May 2016, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary since the restoration of independence of Montenegro, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dragana Kiprijanovska attended the official celebration in Podgorica, where attendees at the Independence Square, aside from the host, the President of the Government of Montenegro, Milo Gjukanovic, we also addressed by the president of the European Council, Donald Tusk.

The Republic of Macedonia, through the Consulate General in Thessaloniki took part in the 13th International Book Fair which was held from 12 to 15 May 2016 in Thessaloniki. The fair was used to promote modern literary works and the cultural heritage of our country through the selected production of literary, monographic, scientific and representative editions. Translations from Macedonian into English were also presented, which were realized through the Ministry of Culture’s projects, as well as publications by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski” and publishing house “Magor”.

On 10 and 11 May 2016, the second session of the Joint Committee for the EU-integration process was held in Bar under the cooperation agreement between the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and the Government of Montenegro.

 

On 3 May 2016, the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to the Republic of Turkey, Zvonko Mucunski PhD, presented his letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the presidential palace in Beştepe in Ankara.

 

The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Macedonia to the UN, OSCE and other international organizations in Vienna, Ambassador Kire Ilioski led the Macedonian delegation to the UN General Assembly’s Special Session on Drugs which is being held on 19-21 April in New York.

 

On 7 April 2016 an exhibition of art works by the International Art Colony “Kumanovo” was opened at the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in Paris and was attended by the Director of the Kumanovo Museum, Anita Cvetanovska and a representative of the Ministry of Culture, Irina Krotkova.
