A public debate was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the draft text of the new Draft-Law on Foreign Affairs, with the goal of improving the transparency and inclusion of all foreign policy stakeholders in the law-making process. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov presented the draft-law, including the anticipated key novelties which tackle the specificity of the diplomatic service and ensure greater professionalism and modernization in the performance of foreign affairs.

“50 Years of Macedonian Diplomacy” Conference was held and organized today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Diplomatic Club - Skopje.

 

On the second day of the working visit to Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov had several meetings in the European Parliament with: Dacian Ciolos, chair of the Renew Europe Group, Andreas Schieder, co-chair of the EU-MK Joint Parliamentary Committee, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, EP Rapporteur for North Macedonia, as well as with MEPs of the Friends of North Macedonia Group in the EP.

On the first day of his working visit to Brussels, FM Nikola Dimitrov took part in the working breakfast with the ministers of foreign affairs of EU member states and Albania’s FM, organised by the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias.

 

Today in Berlin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov participated in the Balkan Dialogues Conference organised by the Munich Security Conference, the EastWest Institute and the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence (BFPE).

 

Today, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Zernovski attended and delivered opening remarks at the conference - Lessons Learned from Poznan 2019: Ahead of North Macedonia-Bulgaria Co-Presidency of the Berlin Process 2020.

 

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Andrej Zernovski met with David Sproule, Director General for European and Euro-Asian Affairs within the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov participates in the 26th Ministerial Council of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which is being held today and tomorrow in Bratislava, Slovakia.

 

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrej Zernovski took part today in the roundtable on “EU Accession: No Pass to an Impass?”, organised by the European Policy Institute – Skopje.

The debate focused on the future steps in North Macedonia's EU accession process, as well as on linking the discussions between the EU and the region on this process.
