Заменик министерот за надворешни работи, Андреј Жерновски, денес оствари средба со  вонредниот и ополномоштен амбасадор на Кралството Шведска во Република Северна Македонија, г-ѓа Кристин Форшгрен Бенгтсон.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrej Zernovski, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered the welcoming speech at the "Regional School Security 2019" on “Hybrid Threats and their Impact on Democracy – Challenges for Regional Cooperation".   The School is organized by the Faculty of Security – Skopje with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation and the Wilfred Martens Centre for European Studies from Brussels, in cooperation with the Centre for Research and Policy-Making.

Во рамки на Проектот за поддршка на Канцеларијата на ОН на програмата за работа на Меѓуресорското тело за човековите права, како и Експертска работна група на Телото за периодот 2018-2019 година, во Велес од 2 до 4 октомври 2019 се одржа работилница на тема Ажурирање на Планот за спроведување на препораките на телата на ОН за човековите права“.

FM Dimitrov had a bilateral meeting today with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Zannier, who attended the international conference on:  “One Society for All and Inter-culturalism” as one of the keynote speakers, and also held several bilateral meetings with the state leadership as well as with several mayors in Skopje.  The meetings were in the context of exchanging views on enabling the successful implementation of the Strategy for one society for all and inter-culturalism following the adoption thereof, as a topic which lies at the heart of Ambassador Zannier's term.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Dimitrov met today with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Finland, Mr. Pekka Haavisto, during his official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia on 1 and 2 October 2019.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Dimitrov had a farewell meeting with Benjamin Perks, UNICEF representative to the Republic of North Macedonia. The meeting welcomed the efforts of the Government regarding the protection and promotion of the rights of children and the youth, especially in terms of social policies, poverty reduction as well as the improvement of the quality of education. Talks also tackled the successful implementation of the deinstitutionalization project whereby children from social institutions are being placed in foster families.

Today the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Dimitrov took part in a panel discussion in Skopje titled: The Western Balkans:  Leaving Rivalry and Insecurity Behind” held within the Western Balkans Summit conference - "Reinforcing the momentum for European integration", organized by The Economist.  The panel, in addition to FM Dimitrov, was attended by other high representatives of the region, NATO and the EU as well as ambassadors and other representatives of the diplomatic corps and the academic community.

On the sidelines of the General Debate of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov met with his Latvian counterpart, Edgars Rinkēvičs.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov met with the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, Tomáš Petříček. At the meeting, satisfaction was voiced with the continued political dialogue and the bilateral cooperation.  Minister Dimitrov thanked for the consistent support of the Czech Republic for our strategic goals, EU and NATO membership.  He stressed that getting the green light to start accession negotiations with the EU will open a series of new perspectives on our European path.  He also suggested that the good political relations could be further enhanced through economic exchanged and new sectoral content.

As part of the General Debate of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov took part in the meeting of the Governing Council of the Community of Democracies. At the meeting, Minister Dimitrov reaffirmed the request of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia to join the Governing Council in light of the democratic progress at home.
