The Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, at the session held on August 31, 2021, adopted a Decision amending the Decision on preventive recommendations, interim measures, ordered measures, targeted protocols, plans and algorithms for acting to protect the health of the population from the infectious disease Covid -19 caused by the Sars-Cov-2 virus, the cases and the period of their application according to which domestic and foreign citizens are prohibited from entering / leaving the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia, starting from September 1, 2021, unless they present one of the following documents at the border crossing:
- certificate / confirmation for immunization (vaccination) against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, i.e. administration of at least two doses of vaccine against the infectious disease COVID-19;
- certificate / confirmation for having recovered from COVID-19 in the last 45 days, counting from the day of recovery;
- medical certificate with negative result from RT PCR SARS-CoV-2 test, made 72 hours before entry / exit to / from the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia or
- negative result of a rapid antigen test, made 48 hours before entry / exit to / from the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The certificate / attestation referred to in paragraph 1 lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 of this item does not apply to persons under 18 years of age.
Domestic and foreign citizens, who upon entering the border crossing on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia will not enclose one of the documents referred to in paragraph 1 lines 1, 2, Z and 4 of this item, must be referred to domestic isolation / quarantine at their own expense for a period of seven days, for which the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate issues a decision.
Home isolation / quarantine can be terminated after the fifth day, only by submitting a medical certificate with a negative result from the RT PCR SARS-CoV-2 test.
Exception from paragraph 1 lines 1, 2, Z and 4 from this point are airline crews and professional drivers of freight motor vehicles entering the border crossings on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as all types of group or individual trips or passengers and professional drivers of freight motor vehicles transiting through the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia, for which they must sign a Transit Statement.
