The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani officially opened the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia today in Bratislava
in the Slovak Republic, in the presence of his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, Ivan Korčok. "I am certain
that this new beautiful and warm home of North Macedonia in Slovakia, that
this corner will be yet
another point through which we will develop our cooperation, a kind of hub through which numerous ideas, projects, initiatives will be passed,
that are of common interest for citizens of both countries. North Macedonia
and Slovakia have so far developed extremely positive and high-
quality bilateral relations, but I want to believe that with today's act we are entering a new chapter of intensive bilateral relations between our two countries.I am convinced that through the Embassy we will strengthen our ever-growing friendship; "We will,
much closer, connected and of course more efficient in realis
ing our ambitions," Osmani said.
The resident diplomatic representation of North Macedonia in Slovakia’s capital
will provide additional impetus for the comprehensive development of relations between the two countries. With the opening of our diplomatic and consular mission in Slovakia, the efforts to ensure more intensive communication, especially in terms of economic cooperation, culture, education, protection of the interests of our citizens and many other activities, will contribute to a new dimension of the quality of mutual relations.
In addition to the exchange of views on bilateral relations, the two ministers availed themselves of the opportunity
to discuss the latest developments, challenges and prospects of our European integration process, in light of the important decisions ahead of
the first International Conference and the formal start of accession negotiations between
North Macedonia and
the European Union. On that road, Slovakia once again reaffirmed its
strong and vocal
support for the immediate start of negotiations with
our country, stating that this engagement will continue
in the up
The two ministers also exchanged views on other topics of mutual interest, regional cooperation, as well as efforts to address the aftermath of the p
andemic and the next steps in this regard.
