The Directorate for Bilateral Relations with Non-European Countries adopts annual work plans and reports; plans, organises, coordinates, and follows the bilateral relations and cooperation of the Republic of North Macedonia with countries of North, Central, and South America, Asia, Australia and the Pacific, Eurasia, Africa, and the Middle East; participates in the formulation and implementation of the established foreign policy positions of the Republic of North Macedonia; follows, analyses, and reports on internal developments in these countries and on the bilateral relations with them; ensures coordination and cooperates with relevant institutions and state administration bodies in the country; provides guidelines and instructions to diplomatic missions and consular posts in these countries and follows their work; cooperates with accredited diplomatic missions and consular posts of these countries in the Republic of North Macedonia; manages and organises the work of Sectors and Units, which are part of this Directorate; develops and implements the programme for preparation of employees prior to their deployment to diplomatic missions and consular posts; evaluates the work of organisational units and diplomatic missions and consular posts from the perspective of its competences; and performs other tasks within its scope of competences.
5.1 Sector for North, Central and South America, East Asia, Australia and the Pacific
The Sector for North, Central and South America, East Asia, Australia and the Pacific prepares annual work plans and reports; performs and coordinates the activities and tasks related to the bilateral relations and cooperation of the Republic of North Macedonia with the countries of North, Central and South America, East Asia, Australia and the Pacific; monitors, analyses and informs about the development of the bilateral relations and proposes measures and positions for their advancement; monitors, analyses and informs about the internal developments and foreign policies of the countries; prepares and participates in political consultations; coordinates and cooperates with the relevant institutions and bodies in the country; prepares guidelines and instructions for the missions and monitors their work; cooperates with the accredited missions of these countries to the Republic of North Macedonia; organises and evaluates the work of the units in its composition; performs other duties within its scope of activities.
