Jovica Palashevski, Ph.D.
Jovica Palashevski, Ph.D., has been serving as the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Republic of North Macedonia, as of 1 July 2026.
As a career diplomat with more than two decades of experience in the foreign service, he has held a number of senior diplomatic and managerial positions at the Ministry and at diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of North Macedonia.
In 2008, he was appointed as the first Consul General of the Republic of Macedonia in Chicago, where he established and headed the newly opened Consulate General, laying thus the foundations for the diplomatic and consular representation of the country in Midwestern United States. Later, he served as the Minister-Counsellor and Chargé d’Affaires at the Mission in Ottawa, then Deputy Head of Mission in Belgrade, as well as Director of the Directorate for International Law, and Consul General in Toronto.
He acquired his doctoral degree from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. Throughout his career, he has been actively engaged in advancing the country’s bilateral and multilateral relations, economic diplomacy, international law, consular protection, and in the promotion of the national interests of the Republic of North Macedonia.
