The Directorate for Economic and Public Diplomacy adopts annual work plans and reports; plans, organises, coordinates and implements the activities relating to economic diplomacy, public diplomacy, international cultural cooperation, as well as issues related to the situation and cooperation with the Macedonian diaspora; participates in the formulation and implementation of adopted foreign-policy positions of the Republic of North Macedonia; coordinates and cooperates with relevant institutions and bodies of the country; cooperates with domestic chambers of commerce, societies and associations; monitors, analyses and informs about matters within its competence; provides guidelines and instructions to the missions and honorary consuls of the Republic of North Macedonia and monitors their work; cooperates with the accredited missions in the Republic of North Macedonia; manages and organises the work of the sectors and units in its composition; prepares and implements the staff training programme prior to their assignment to missions; evaluates the work of the organisational units and missions within its competence; performs other duties within its scope of activities.
9.1 Sector for Economic Diplomacy
The Sector for Economic Diplomacy prepares annual work plans and reports; performs and coordinates the activities and tasks relating to the promotion and support of the economic interests of the Republic of North Macedonia abroad; participates in the preparation of economic strategies for ventures of domestic companies in third markets and attracting foreign investments; monitors, analyses and informs about the development of economic policies and proposes measures and positions for their improvement; participates in the training of economic promoters; participates in organising professional debates; trade fairs; economic gatherings and events to present the economic potentials of the country; monitors, analyses and informs about the economic development of countries and about international economic issues, as well as about development cooperation and humanitarian aid; coordinates and cooperates with relevant institutions and bodies of the country; cooperates with domestic chambers of commerce, societies and associations; prepares guidelines and instructions for the missions and honorary consuls of the Republic of North Macedonia and monitors their work; cooperates with the accredited missions in the Republic of North Macedonia; organises and evaluates the work of the units in its composition; performs other duties within its scope of activities.

9.2 Sector for Public Diplomacy and Cultural Cooperation
The Sector for Public Diplomacy and Cultural Cooperation prepares annual work plans and reports; undertakes and coordinates activities and tasks related to public diplomacy and international cultural cooperation; coordinates the activities for raising the awareness of the foreign public and acts to promote the results achieved in the European integration and democratic development; stimulates interest in the Republic of North Macedonia as an attractive business, travel and education destination and promotes the values and cultural characteristics of the country; participates in preparing strategies and other documents concerning public diplomacy; improving international cultural cooperation; initiates cooperation with the civil sector on activities related to public diplomacy and international cultural cooperation; coordinates and cooperates with the relevant institutions and bodies of the country; prepares guidelines and instructions for the missions and the culture and information centres of the Republic of North Macedonia and follows their work; cooperates with accredited missions and foreign culture centres and institutes in the Republic of North Macedonia; organises and evaluates the work of the units in its composition; performs other duties within its scope of activities.

9.3. Sector for the Diaspora
The Sector for the Diaspora carries out works and tasks in monitoring the activities of the Government, the Parliament and their bodies which relate to the implementation of the policies towards the diaspora of the Republic of North Macedonia already established; implementing, within its competences, the guidelines of the Government and the Parliament relating to the implementation of policies towards the diaspora; collecting information and data of interest for the design of policies towards the diaspora and the processing thereof; cooperating with specialized non-governmental associations, research centers, academic and scientific institutes, as well as political consulting firms, which would be entrusted with the preparation of scientific papers, researches, theses, expert opinions, assessments of political issues and public opinion that will serve to structure the foreign policy of the Republic of North Macedonia regarding the diaspora, all in order to achieve decentralization of the decision-making process and institutional expansion of the process of making foreign policy decisions related to the diaspora; care for the position and rights of parts of the Macedonian people living in other countries as national minorities; care for the position and rights of parts of the Macedonian people living in other countries as diaspora; care for the position and rights of members of the diaspora originating from the Republic of North Macedonia living in other countries; promotion of ties and cooperation with the Macedonian national minorities and diaspora abroad; maintenance, nurturing and affirmation of the national and cultural-linguistic identity of the diaspora of the Republic of North Macedonia, cooperation and assistance for the diaspora's own affirmation by promoting the values and achievements of the Republic of North Macedonia in the environments of their residence; care and assistance for the actions and activities organized by the diaspora with the aim of pursuing some of the strategic, economic and nationally significant interests of the Republic of North Macedonia;
